Society for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy

The Society for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy is a community of people interested in, professionals and students in the field of mental health, psychoanalytic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. The society is established in 2014 as a space for sharing of experience and professional development. The Society organises seminars, where colleagues from Bulgaria and abroad shared and discuss their professional experience. This develops the community and fosters the development and dissemination of psychoanalytic thinking and psychoanalytic psychotherapy in Bulgaria.

Lecturer: Dr. Robert Caper – psychoanalyst in private practice in New York. Author of four books and number of papers on psychoanalysis and a lecturer in USA, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Spain, France, Brazil, UK and Bulgaria. Also he had held the position in the editorial board of the Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association, as well as on the International Journal of Psychoanalysis. Dr Robert Caper is a member of the training committee of the Bulgarian Society for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.

MEMBERSHIP

Admission of members is done by the Management Board on the basis of a written application for membership (Application for membership) and an interview with members of the Management Board of the Company.

TRAINING

At the heart of the training are the principles and achievements of psychoanalysis, described by Freud and developed by the British School of Object Relations.
